The future of 24-year-old Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie has been decided. According to TEAMtalk, the Gunners’ management is ready to complete a full transfer of Piero Inca for about £51.6 million after the end of the season.
The Ecuadorian joined the team in September, on the last day of the transfer window, when they managed to beat Tottenham in the race for the Bayer player. After a bit of time to adjust, he became a regular starter and earned Mikel Arteta’s full trust.
This season, the player has started in 15 Premier League games and two Champions League games. He’s been a regular starter recently, including three league games in a row, and he scored in the derby against Tottenham (4-1).
Incapie has already made his mark, scoring against Wolverhampton and providing an assist against Brentford. The coaching staff is happy with his progress and how he’s fit into the team.
The deal is expected to be finalized in the summer, and the defender will be the first full-fledged reinforcement ahead of the new season.
