According to a survey by the industry publication GSMArena, users have picked the best Android smartphone interface. Samsung’s One UI took the top spot with 41% of the votes, thanks to its features and seamless integration with other Samsung products. In second place, with 20%, was “stock” Android (Pixel UI from Google), known for its minimalism, while third place (7.2%) went to custom ROMs, which are relevant for older devices. The top seven in the ranking also included NothingOS (6.9%), ColorOS from Oppo (5.8%), HyperOS from Xiaomi (3.5%), and Hello UI from Motorola (2.1%). At the same time, almost 40% of respondents said that the type of interface is a big deal for them when buying a new smartphone.
The biggest Android smartphone manufacturers promote their own versions of the user interface to stand out from “stock” Android, offering unique features and proprietary apps.
The popular international website GSMArena asked users to share their experiences to find out which Android skin is the best. Samsung’s One UI got the most votes (41%), way ahead of the rest.
In second place, with 20% of the vote, was “stock” Android, which is used on Google Pixel series smartphones. The interface is simple, attractive, and not overloaded with unnecessary features. Custom ROMs came in third (7.2%). They’re a hit with users whose smartphones don’t get the official updates anymore.
Here are the other UIs that made up the ranking
From fourth to seventh place, here are the UIs in the UI rankings:
- NothingOS (for Nothing Phone and CMF Phone smartphones) – 6.9%.
- ColorOS (for Oppo smartphones) – 5.8%.
- HyperOS (for Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones) – 3.5%.
- Hello UI (for Motorola smartphones) – 2.1%.
The least popular UIs on the list were MagicOS from Honor, Xperia UI from Sony, and ColorOS from vivo.

The GSMArena editorial team also did a poll to see how important the UI is when buying a smartphone. Almost half of the respondents (~43%) said the Android interface is important but not a deciding factor, and 6% said it has virtually no influence on their choice.
At the same time, about 40% of users admitted that they choose a device specifically because of their favorite interface.
