This feature is supposed to make the interface faster and improve how quickly apps launch. The technology works by briefly boosting the processor frequency when system menus or programs are opened. Microsoft’s internal tests show a performance boost of up to 40% for Outlook and Edge, and up to 70% for interface elements like the Start menu, search, and notification center. It also stops animations and context menus in File Explorer from freezing up. The impact on battery life and heat generation is minimal, as the boost only lasts a few seconds. To enable the feature, go to the “Windows Update” section and manually confirm the installation of this optional package.
