Apple is working on a pretty unique iPhone, and you can already get a glimpse of it

As Jon Prosser, an insider, pointed out in a post on the FPT, we’ve got some new renders that have been leaked. YouTube channel, Apple is planning a radical redesign for its 2027 anniversary smartphone, skipping the “iPhone 19” moniker to launch the iPhone 20. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone, the new device has a sleek “all-glass” front panel with no bezels or interruptions. Apple is planning to ditch the Dynamic Island, moving the front camera and Face ID under the display. The leaked renders also show a dual-camera setup styled like the rumored iPhone Air, solid-state haptic buttons instead of physical keys, an upgraded silicon-anode battery for increased capacity, and high-speed HBM memory integration.

There’s a new video on the YouTube channel of Jon Prosser, the insider who Apple is suing for leaking info about iOS 26. The video shows renders of the anniversary iPhone 20. PhoneArena says that the new design is one of the most radical redesigns in history, based on the renders.

We’re talking about the 2027 iPhone model, which will be the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone. The device’s main idea is a display that covers the whole front panel without any interruptions: no “notch,” no “island,” and not even the smallest camera cutouts.

According to the insider, Apple engineers want to get rid of distracting visual elements from the screen and achieve a “seamless glass” effect, where the image flows smoothly to the very edges of the device. The screen should be bezel-less and blend in with the device’s body.

Apple is thinking about getting rid of Dynamic Island, which first came on the iPhone 14 Pro to replace the “notch.” There just won’t be space for it in the new generation. Front-facing technologies (like Face ID) are going to be hidden under the screen.

One interesting detail in the renders is the dual-camera setup on the back, similar to the iPhone Air, though Apple’s latest flagship models use three sensors. The physical buttons on the sides will be replaced with haptic feedback buttons.

We’re also expecting some major changes on the technical side. The lithium-ion battery is going to be replaced by a silicon-anode battery, which will allow for increased capacity without increasing size and, consequently, extend battery life. We’ll talk about the transition to high-speed HBM memory separately.

According to someone who works at Apple, they’re planning to skip the “iPhone 19” name and go straight to the iPhone 20. They’re doing this to make it match the 20th anniversary of the first smartphone.
