Another country has also imposed sanctions on Russia, with 100 of Putin’s ships in his shadow fleet being targeted

Canada has added 100 more ships from Russia’s “shadow fleet” to its sanctions list. The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the idea is to stop people getting around restrictions that have been put in place before and make it harder for Russia to fund its military operations. The Canadian Foreign Minister, Anita Anand, said that Ottawa will keep putting pressure on the aggressor together with international allies until the war is completely over.

Canada has widened its anti-Russian sanctions by putting restrictions on hundreds of vessels in the shadow fleet. The Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this.

“To make our efforts to counter Russia’s sanctions evasion stronger, Canada is adding another 100 vessels from the Russian shadow fleet to the sanctions list,” the statement said.

It’s worth pointing out that these sanctions are meant to reduce Russia’s ability to fund the war, while making sure that “unnecessary harm” isn’t caused to regular people.

“Canada is still 100% behind Ukraine and its people. We’re sticking up for their rights in the face of Putin’s harmful and aggressive actions. Until Russia stops attacking other nations, Canada will keep on tightening its sanctions in conjunction with its allies and partners,” said Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand
