A Turkish resort with turquoise waters has been named the ideal beach vacation spot for this summer

The Turkish city of Dalaman was named the top beach destination in Europe for the summer of 2026 by the experts. The resort did better than 150 other places because of its perfect weather (+27°C), blue waters, and great family vacation setup. Some of the top attractions include Istuzu “Turtle Beach,” the Lycian rock tombs, paragliding from Babadag Mountain, and cruises to the Valley of the Butterflies. It’s easy to get to Dalaman from major European cities like Chisinau and Warsaw, so it’s a popular travel hub this season.

Dalaman, a Turkish resort town, has been named the ideal beach destination in Europe to visit in the summer of 2026. This is what the family vacation experts at TUI figured out after looking at more than 150 European destinations and past weather data. But it was Dalaman in Turkey that took the top spot, with an average summer temperature of +27°C, a light breeze, and hardly any rain during the peak months, according to The Mirror.

And there are lots of flights from Europe to Dalaman at prices that won’t break the bank. For example, a direct flight from the airport in the Moldovan capital of Chisinau takes just over two hours, while a flight from the Polish capital of Warsaw takes about three hours.

When tourists arrive in Dalaman, they can enjoy the scenic coastline, surrounded by pine forests and the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

Meanwhile, on Istuzu Beach, also called Turtle Beach, you can spot endangered sea turtles. There, you’ll find soft sand and shallow waters, perfect for kids.

Then, hop on a boat ride along the Dalyan River to check out the ancient Lycian rock tombs and experience the region’s famous thermal mud baths.

If you’re into adventure, you can paraglide from Mount Babadag, and if you’re more of a nature person, you can take a boat trip to the Valley of the Butterflies, which has waterfalls and hundreds of butterfly species.

In the city itself, you can enjoy Turkish cuisine, especially fresh seafood and delicacies from local markets.

Dalaman is also a great place to start exploring the area, including the 12 Göcek Islands and the ancient ruins in Dalyan.

Dalaman’s got a bunch of different places to stay, like all-inclusive beach resorts with kids’ clubs and water parks, as well as boutique hotels and self-catering apartments.
