New York Fashion Week (NYFW) for fall 2026 has brought back the early 2010s style. What was old yesterday is now the new normal for the catwalks of top brands, and they’re calling it millennialcore.
It’s surprising, but the trends of the 2010s are making a comeback on the catwalks of New York Fashion Week for the fall 2026 season. Designers have recently gone back to a style from a decade ago that was considered outdated, but now it’s being reinterpreted. Glamour says it’s not about the most controversial symbols of the era, but a more refined version of it: skinny jeans, tops with basques at the waist, chunky jewelry, and minimalist accessories. People are already calling this style “millennialcore.”
Coach, 7 For All Mankind, Proenza Schouler, Tory Burch, and Ralph Lauren are just a few of the brands that set the tone. The Coach collection kicked off Fashion Week with skater-style looks—checkered jackets, distressed jeans, and Bermuda shorts that gave off major Brooklyn hipster vibes, like back in the early 2010s.
Meanwhile, 7 For All Mankind brought back the vibe from 2011 with their denim jackets, miniskirts, and of course, their signature skinny jeans.
Stylists say that the popularity of 2010s fashion is due to a wave of nostalgia. These days, it’s the millennials who are really shaping the cultural agenda, so it makes sense that we’re going back to that era.
